The Fabric of Love

He turns off the lights

Every night

                    To think of her!

She looks out the window

Before sunset

Hoping he would throw

A shadow

On her door

Life is a test

Of your mind

Your ego

And your heart!

Everything reminds him

Of her

Small stuff

That goes unnoticed

By others

Squeezes his heart

Reduces him

To tears

She looks in the mirror

Sees his image

Standing behind

Whispering: I love you!

She turns around

His presence is still there

But she can’t see him

Anymore

We can’t choose

Those who take

And sometimes break

Our hearts

We only lose

Our fake barriers

We surrender

To Love

Then love

Becomes our pain

Again, and again

The fabric of love

Is so fine

Yet so heavy

It wraps the heart

From the start

And an end

Is not in sight…
