A Place

Once upon a time
There was a place
Out of space
Out of time
Full of grace
And sublime
A place to trace
The smell
Of heaven
To enrich the soul
With what’s been given
Long ago
Far away
Night and day
The sky rained
The soil gained
The essence
Of life
We’re here now
Don’t know how!
Still afar
From each other
Still apart
From that place
That which would
Bring us together
Not on Earth
Not of time
Or space
Is it far fetched?
Can we dream?
Of its realm
Can we draw?
Ourselves near
To where we belong
And long
I’m writing a song
That sounds like
The cry of birds
Flying home
After a journey
Of pain
And strain
They sound happy
One day
The place
That which
Is out of time
Out of space
Full of grace
Would open
Its doors
For those
Looking for
A gathering around
The fireplace
To feel the warmth
Of love and care
Like nowhere
