A long road home

The sky looks blue

That’s how I feel, too

Winding down

Climbing up

Does this take home?

Been on the path

Long to know

The end isn’t near

The end isn’t far

We struggle day and night

Trying to see something

Through thick clouds

Grasping at straws of hope

Mistaking shadows for shelters

Yet home isn’t here

It isn’t far

It isn’t near

Why the struggle?

The agony?

The high hopes?

What is this journey

All about?

Can those be found

Somewhere else?

Not far

Not near

Somewhere we can’t see

By looking out

Or talking about

The road home is long

And I’m singing a song

That has no beginning

No end

No lyrics

No tone

It’s the song

Of the lost home…
