Where is Peace?

I see them move

Looking for something

Which they don’t

I see them leave

Traces behind

As they suddenly

The souls are yearning

For the gift of life

No pain, no strife

For fullness

For peace

We cannot look

For that which is

That which lies

Silent underneath

The pain, the strife

The yearning, the fear

It is peace

We spend our lives

Looking for it

Hiding it

Deep inside

Covering it

With layers

Of misery

Then we ask

Then we wonder:

Where is peace?

The gift of life

Is always waiting

To be taken

To be celebrated

Yet, without peace

We feel lost

We go too far

From the faint whisper

Of the wonder

  1. Good poem about peace!

    • Thanks, but where is peace? The poem suggests it’s hidden inside. How can we unleash it and enjoy its presence in our lives? I’d say “knowing” what peace is, where it is, etc, is only one dimension. Experiencing it is another, and it’s what truly matters!
